Julie Kramer, On Air WFNX, Founder of Basement Archives

About the Founder

The company’s founder, Julie Kramer, is best known as the on-air DJ and music director at WFNX 101.7, once hailed as the nation's top alternative station. But her journey didn’t stop there. Traveling the country with various bands ignited her passion for photography—a passion that took root during her college days at UMASS Boston, where she honed her craft. Combining her love for music and photography, Julie’s unique perspective allows her to capture iconic moments that resonate with fans and collectors alike.

About the Business

Basement Archives is a recently formed start-up company established in Marblehead, Massachusetts. The LLC was formed in 2019 when the business officially launched. Through products and services, the mission is to emphasize the significance of turning original photographs into custom t-shirts, mugs, and prints, enabling fans to bring the spirit of their favorite musicians and bands into their lives in a tangible and personal manner. The Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Nirvana, Joe Strummer, and more exist in the archive, some of which have impacted music forever.

What We Do

We offer music lovers a way to connect with their favorite bands and musicians through photography. The original portraits of bands and artists provide a unique glimpse into the history and energy of the iconic genre. Julie's collective has over 200 images of famous musicians and entertainers producing timeless moments, documentation of history, and the appreciation of artists no longer alive. Basement Archives fosters community, allowing people to relate through shared interests, creating a sense of belonging. Wearing custom t-shirts or displaying prints and mugs at home can spark conversations and form connections with fellow fans.
